Sold by the Ingot Zinc Based Pewter comes in an ingot that weighs approximately 4lbs (3.9lbs - 4.1lbs) and measures 1" x 2" x 8.5" with tapered sides. This alloy has a composition of 93% Zinc, 4% Aluminum, and 3% Copper. Over time it retains its strength and hardness better than the other alloys. The melting temperature of this alloy is between 714 and 734 Fahrenheit, making it unsuitable for most silicone-based molds, but great for metal, plaster of paris, and high temperature silicone molds. Some of the advantages of Zinc Based Pewter over other pewters include, lower cost, strength and durability (even with made thin). ***This pewter is not for use with the furnaces/pots that we sell on our website as zinc is corrosive to the steel of the pots.*** Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
